 Prophet Bushiri Promises Support for Arts Industry

Leader for the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, has promised to persistently support the country’s arts industry.

Prophet Bushiri made the promise on Saturday 2nd October when he donated MWK20 million to Fatsani Movie Crew which he said should help the them promote globally their newly released movie, ‘Fatsani’.

Bushiri who is commonly known as ‘Major 1’, while gracing the premiering of the movie at the Amaryllis hotel in Blantyre, said he noticed that the arts industry is very crucial for social-economic development of the country, hence his gesture.

The man of God further added that he would like to see Malawian art products flooding the international community and has since urged Fatsani Movie Crew to be the leading light in doing so.

“I started this mission of promoting the arts sector some eight years ago, and I will up the game by doing more. My donation is to affirm my unwavering support for the Fatsani movie, specifically and generally the arts sector in Malawi,” promised Prophet Bushiri.

Complementing Prophet
Bushiri’s gesture were his partners from South Africa, Germany, Kenya and USA who accompanied him to the event and they auctioned Fatsani movie at K3 million.

Reacting to the donation, Gift Sukez Sukali who is the leader of Fatsani Movie Crew, hailed Prophet Bushiri and his international partners for the gesture, claiming their coming in is so timely.

Sukali said the donation will see the movie reaching global height and he added that their target now is to get it featured on big international streaming platforms such as; Hulu, Showmax and Netflix.
