In her remarks, the DGD Chairperson, Mrs Nancy Cham’dimba emphasized the power of prayer in one’s academic pursuit. She said it’s imperative for young ladies to align their lifestyle with what the Word of God says and prayer.
Her teaching came from the book of Luke 11 verses one to 13.
“This will not just happen, pray. Take time to pray for your academics, even in these times of COVID – 19, pray for the protection of your families.” She said.
The moment Chand’imba finished her lecturing, the group took a break for performances, braiii and refreshments.
At exactly 4:30, Cham’dimba introduced the guests speaker, Angella Masikini Phiri on stage, who in her remarks shared on tips to becoming an effective public speaker, by giving the examples of Jesus Christ.
She said,”As a young girl with passion for public speaking, learn to live like Jesus, every time you want to speak, have a point on what you want to say and connect yourself to the audience.”
“Know what you want to do, learn to organize yourself, rehearse on what you want to say and much more, have confidence and courage within yourself.
One of the attendees, Edith Namalhaka said,”In these day and age, Public speaking has become an important skill that must have in order to advance your career. I have learnt alot today, I have now the confidence that I can speak to a large group.”
In a post-event interview, Chamd’imba couldn’t hide expressing her happiness.
She said,”firstly I thank God for giving us the opportunity to meet and have a special talk, we thought we won’t manage but God has been on our side, much more am excited that my young girls have grabbed something on how they can turn to be public speakers”.
Cham’dimba disclosed that currently the DGD ministry is yet to work on a year plan on how they will reach out to their targeted grouping.
