Youths under the Presbyterian Church of Malawi-PCM are to enjoy the 2020 festive season in Christian style as the church is set to host its young people to Christmas banquet themed “Night of Zonse.”

Through the dinner scheduled for 23rd December 2020, at Area 23 PCM in Lilongwe the church seeks to create a platform for youths to sharpen and encourage each other through fellowship whilst being built in the teaching of the word of God.

According to Chairperson of the Youth Ministry, Martin Chirwa one of the core values of Area 23 PCM is spiritual growth and maturity hence utilizing the festive season as a perfect opportunity to congregate the youth for their grooming and growth.

Martin Chirwa: It’s an event for all young people from different denomination

Chirwa said; “various activities have been organized to make it a pleasant fellowship of young christians this festive season. It has also been designed as a night for Reflection as we close the year. We to thank God for all the promises he has kept this year so that we can continue to trust him in the years to come as we continue submit our plans to him.”

The chairperson described the event as very vital to Christian faith because it intends to unite the body of Christ considering the fact that it will bring together youths from various denominations and various walks of life.

“The bible records in Psalms that God is found in the Congregation of the mighty. And we are hoping that on this day with he will inhabit the Congregation of his children.”

He said; “We also want to engage the youth to have fun and celebrate the festivities in Christian fashion. During this festive season the youth are usually susceptible to various indulgences that are contrary to the lifestyle of a Christian.”

“But we want the youth to rejoice in the Lord. That is why we have planned this Fun night around this festive season in order to give the youth a festive experience they will live to remember. A night full of the power of God and fun at the same time. A night of zonse. It is going to be Explosive.”

During the night of Zonse there will be Youth Talk and Discussion on Grooming and etiquette, whereby issues pertaining to the physical, social, behavioral and Spiritual growth of a Christian Youth shall be discussed followed by various interactive games.

Chirwa further said; “We have chosen to have a talk on grooming and etiquette for the purpose of touching the critical areas of a Christian youth that are usually overlooked. Most of the Christian talks now adays talk about issues like, Business, Prayer or faith. But we want to go back to the basics.”

Each individual needs to be groomed molded to be a successful and exemplary human being. This is why we have chosen this topic of Groomint and etiquette. We have asked one of the mentors of our youth Ministry, a successful Mother and academician who also happens to be the wife to our Youth Pastor in Area 23 Pcm, Mrs Mazizi, to admonish us on this topic. The goal is make sure that we live a successful life in all areas of our lives as we are being groomed into maturity. “
He then urged youths to patronize the event citing; “We are targeting the Youth all walks of life to come and hear the message of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ and to rejoice in him. Anyone who is interested to join us on this day should contact the chairperson on 0888106505. The necessary fee is k5000 as a contribution.
