Inkosi Ya Makosi Mbelwa 5 Makes History: First Ngoni Paramount Chief Ordained Into Men’s Guild

Inkosi ya Makosi Mbelwa 5 has become the first ngoni Paramount chief from the Zwangendaba clan to be ordained into Men’s Guild and Church Eldership for the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia.

The ordination ceremony is taking place at Edingeni CCAP church ground led by the synod’s moderator Reverend Isaac Malongo.

Some of the notable figures that witnessed the historic occasion included Speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Gotani Hara, former vice president Khumbo Kachali, Presidential advisor on peace, reconciliation and nation building Rev Maurice Munthali.

Speaking at the ceremony the synod’s General Secretary Reverend William Tembo said the church has greatly been honored by the chief’s decision to join the men’s guild and serve as a church elder as that strengthens his power to serve God and his people from the Christian bench.

Church elder and veteran politician Goodall Gondwe says what has happened is historical and should serve as a lesson to all ngoni chiefs.

Men’s guild is a movement within the church that encourages men to live by the values of Christianity and preach good news.
