With 5000 needy students as beneficiaries for his busury scheme, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri says this gesture should not be viewed or mistaken with politics.

He made the remarks Monday afternoon where he provided details  on how needy secondary and college students could access his bursary scheme.

Through the scheme, the ECG Jesus Nation Church leader targets to help 5000 needy students with user fees.

“Some capable Malawians fail to offer assistance in various areas for fear of being tarnished as having political interest. The bursary scheme is a sacrifice to the nation and not anything for show-off,” stressed Prophet Bushiri.

University Students can immediately start applying for the Shepherd Bushiri Bursary Scheme.

Prophet Bushiri said his student’s bursary scheme is targeting 5 000 underprivileged Malawian students in the country’s secondary schools and universities, both in private and public institutions.

He said the bursary is free but beneficiaries are encouraged, once they start working, to replicate the favour to other less privileged students.

For secondary school students he said they will start benefiting from next term because the current one is already towards the end while university students can immediately access the bursary.

For students to benefit , they must be not more than 27 years, and make an application for the bursary and send it to [email protected].

Addressing the media on Monday, Prophet Bushiri sais: “They have to state why they want the bursary, confirmation of nationality and the amount of money needed. They also need to provide names and contacts of their parent or guardian and also names and contact of their headteacher or registrar of their institutions.”

The busury is an answer to thousands of requests from needy and helpless Malawians youths who are failing to pursue their education due to user fees challenges.
