US Gospel Music Icon Don Moen is headlining the Love Malawi Festival taking place from October 1 to 3 at the College of Medicine Sports Complex in Blantyre.

This will be his 2nd mission to Malawi. His first visit was in 2016, performing at the Love Malawi Festival that took place in Lilongwe.

According to one of the co-organizers from the Evangelical Association of Malawi, Rev Francis Mkandawire, the 3 day main event spectacular is a chance for the religious community to pray about rising cases of moral decadence and corruption currently rocking the country which are stunting development of the country.

Reverend Mkandawire opened up to journalists at Ryall’s Hotel during a media briefing on Tuesday saying “Lately there has been rampant cases of suicide, defilement and issues of corruption which has greatly affected the nation as a whole,”

“Now as a church, we believe this festivity has come at a right time where we can give hope to God’s sheep through the gospel of Jesus Christ”

Despite the main attraction of the ‘I Love Malawi Festival’ being slated on 1st- 3rd October, the masterminds behind the gospel grandeur have already started pre-show charity works focusing on prison visits, Orphanages, primary and secondary schools as well as street children as instructed by the Lord Jesus Christ.

The event will be graced by the presence of International evangelist Andrew Palau and his wife Wendy.

Talking about the event itself, Wendy likened it to the works of Jesus Christ saying Christ both physically and spiritually.

Zambuye.com quotes the International Evangelist saying “the only way to put an end to all the corruption and moral decadence is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ which will be preached at the event”

The event will has been made possible by the Louis Palau Association in conjunction with the Evangelical Association of Malawi.
