Preps are at an advanced stage for one of the highly anticipated album launches this year: First Love by Glocence, with star-studded supporting acts, Faith Mussa and Chigo Grace. The newly opened Golden Peacock BICC Blantyre is to host the concert taking place last Friday night of November (27th).
Both Chigo Grace and Faith Mussa are highly revered Gospel artists that have shared the stage with the heavyweights.
Chigo Grace shared the stage with Sinach of the way maker fame when she came to Malawi two years ago (May 2018).
Faith Mussa’s list of Gospel Music greats that he has performed with include Benjamin Dube, Rudimental, Christafari. Christafari and Faith Mussa have a song together called Imigongo.
For Glocence, she has shared the stage with prominent artists Esther Ngurube and Uche Agu in Malaysia where she did her Bachelors degree in Accounting.
“For me this is more than an album launch. It’s going to be a Live DVD recording, so our preparations are top notch… my team has been rehearsing and every single day we are perfecting every aspect of it so we give the people an event worth waiting for,” Glocence Manoto said when contacted by our reporter.
All 8 songs were recorded by Nigel Nyangombe, owner of Studios Africa Zimbabwe, assisted by Tari G Fingers.
About the album, she said: “In the album, I was privileged and honored to feature Pastor Gee and Minister Kuda Mandizvidza who are both great Gospel ministers in Zimbabwe”.
“The album seeks to gather people to worship together and experience with God. People have prioritized their work, business, money and all that is around them above God, but it is time to realize that without God, we would have absolutely nothing,” she said.
According to the fliers circulating online, people can buy tickets at Word Alive Bookshop, regular tickets at K10, 000 and VIP tickets at K15, 000.
This will be Faith Mussa’s first appearance in Blantyre this year.
“Can you believe I don’t remember last time I performed in Blantyre…this should be the first this year”, he said.
Chigo Grace, when contacted, said she is more than thrilled to be a part of Glocence’s First Love album launch.
“I personally love her passion for the Lord and her Music is powerful. We first met in Zimbabwe. It happened that we were recording our albums with the same studio,” Chigo Grace narrated.
